Welcome to the first edition of DRIVE Lite – Heavy Vehicle Competency Based Assessment (HVCBA) for 2024. We hope you enjoy the new look and feel of our newsletters coming to you throughout the year.

HVCBA quality assurance checks and assessor audits

Gaps in HVCBA knowledge have been identified in some quality assurance checks conducted by Transport for NSW (Transport).

Demerit points relief for safe drivers, trial extended

The demerit points relief for safe driver’s trial ran from 17 January 2023 until 16 January 2024. The scheme is to be extended for a second year as the NSW Government sharpens its focus on road safety.
