NSW DTA Membership Terms & Conditions
- Association Background & Structure
- NSW Driver Trainers Association is the peak body to represent and assist driving instructors in New South Wales and is a Not-For-Profit NSW Incorporated Association (Registration INC9890899), ABN 47 305 972 055.
- NSW DTA provides Members with benefits, advice and resources to enhance their delivery of qualified, accredited driving instruction.
- NSW DTA is run by Committee (7 volunteers) elected annually by Members; governance by a Public Officer (nominal remuneration) and services plus infrastructure supplied by an Admin Support Executive (paid P/T).
- Members must be NSW licensed driving instructors and provide qualification details on their Membership Application upon joining.
- Members who are NOT driving instructors yet engaged or supportive of the industry may join as Associate Members.
- Members agree to uphold the NSW DTA Code of Best Practice in their professional conduct and abide by these Terms & Conditions of Membership.
- Financial Membership
- Membership Fees are paid in an upfront annual fee payment for calendar year ahead, due in December and accepted until 30 January each year to remain a current Financial Member.
- Current Annual Membership is $150 per driving instructor for all entitlements.
- New Members from mid-year, by or after 1 July, are entitled to pro-rated fee as half ($75) for balance of that year’s membership.
- Promotional Offers for membership entitle Members all benefits unless subject to limitations outlined within any promotion.
- From December 2021 membership renewals will be invoiced for the following year with payment terms noted.
- Member Renewals are notified via emails and on website.
- Failure to renew Financial Membership will result in suspension of benefits including Directory listing and access to resources.
- Member fees are non-refundable to the extent permitted by law.
- Cancelled or discontinued membership requires that all Association identity (logo, links) be removed from your business in any print or digital form.
- Member Benefits & Services
- On joining and renewal, Members receive a unique lifetime Member Number and annual Member Card and Car Decal for each calendar/financial year.
- Website Directory listing profiles all current Members with their own web page and linked to Google Maps as a geo-location finder for the public.
- Member News posted monthly on website with certain articles only available to Members as well as quarterly Member eMails on updates and topics.
- Members Only Website portal and Facebook page with access to resources.
- Services for business development including advisor consulting, promotion, training and forums are available online and in unique workshop events.
- Training Programs for Professional Development are available on request as developed by Association Committee and third-party outsourced suppliers.
- Annual General Meeting (AGM) allows Members to contribute to Association priorities and industry position with voting rights and a forum for expression.
- Seminars, workshops or conferences are regularly reviewed and developed as relevant issues and opportunities require.
- Discounts and services are available from Association Sponsors.
- Member Obligations
- Members agree to know and adhere to the NSW DTA Code of Best Practice with regard to qualifications, conduct, knowledge and responsibility.
- Members must update their qualifications on their own Profile within the Member Directory and notify NSW DTA Admin of any change to qualifications or contact information.
- Members must notify NSW DTA Admin in writing if your business is sold, changes name or requires additional individual membership enrolment.
- Pursuant to 4.3, membership is per person, not per Driving School. All driving instructors of each school are expected to be current NSW DTA Members.
- Member Cards should be carried at all times to show currency and accountability by Member Number as required by certain programs.

- Where third party services are provided the NSW DTA accepts no responsibility or liability for provisions, expressed or implied.
- Providing advice, consults or recommendations are given with best professional knowledge and experience which must be considered by each individual Member in their own circumstances.
- Website Profiles are maintained by Members and are a provided service that must meet all current codes and practices for publication.
