What aspects of your business would benefit from some expert – and free – guidance?
With collaboration partners ranging from IKEA to the University of Western Sydney, there’s sure to be an information session you’d get a lot out of.
Keep an eye on the events page as even more events are added in the coming weeks
Court isn’t the only option for resolving a dispute
In business, disagreements over a lease, contract or overdue payments are not uncommon.
Unfortunately for many smaller businesses, going to court to try to resolve a disagreement is not a realistic option. The process can be slow, complicated and expensive. But there is an alternative.
The Small Business Commission offers a cost-effective mediation service that can help you resolve a wide variety of business disputes using an independent mediator.
Mediation can be done in-person or online and is cheaper, quicker and less stressful than court.
Be first to trade mark your brand or product
Your IP (Intellectual Property) – such as your brand name, slogan or logo – is very valuable because it helps your business stand out from your competitors.
Registering a trade mark for your IP is important because it gives you the power to:
- stop others from using your IP as if it was theirs
- license others to use it for a fee
- sell it.
But is your IP able to be trade marked?
The new TM Checker is a free tool that:
- checks if a word, phrase or logo is already trade marked
- offers some tips on what to look out for when choosing a trade mark
- guides you through the process of applying for a trade mark.
