Response from Service NSW to our Tough Questions
We recently invited representatives from Service NSW and Transport for NSW to a ZOOM meeting with NSW DTA Officers to answer some tough questions about Driver Testing during these times.
In a one hour meeting with our President, Treasurer and Admin, we were very pleased about open, honest dialogue with Melissa Harrison, Driver Testing Governance Lead for SNSW (pictured left and joined by Anthony Barker) on a number of topics. We share what we learned from Melissa here with more updates coming soon. All Members are requested to send us questions or comments about issues at their local SNSW Centres.
About Driver Testing backlogs…
At the time where Driver Testing resumed there were around 60,000 tests needing to be recovered. With 78 new examiners hired (some of which are still in training) the rate of testing is currently 140% of normal volumes and the backlog may take up to 12 months to clear depending on the NSW Health guidelines and restrictions due to COVID.
